A breast cancer survivor disrupted her wealthy husband's wedding to a younger woman in Kenya.

An angry wife stormed her husband's wedding to a younger woman, to serve him a court injunction she had obtained to stop the wedding from going on.

According to reports, the woman identified as Jane Njeri Njuguna, a breast cancer survivor, had been dumped by her wealthy husband John Njuguna Ng’ang’a following her battle with cancer.

On August 20, while John was getting married to his wife Anne Wairimu in her home in Ruiru, Jane accompanied by a commanding officer of the Ruiru police station, arrived at the venue, disrupting the wedding in the process.

While the two women exchanged blows and hurtful words, John was arrested and taken to the police station where he was detained overnight.

According to Jane, even though her husband had put her through a lot while she was sick, all she wanted was just to get her share of the property they acquired together while they were married.

Here's what Jane whose breasts were removed as a result of the cancer, said:

"He has a right to marry even 10 wives, but what I want is the property I acquired with him. It is painful to see another woman enjoying my sweat after I have endured a lot of ridicule."

Narrating how she met her husband while they were students and how she had to quit her job at a government hospital following their marriage, the mother of six said:

"I decided to quit the government after we got married. We opened our own clinic to allow us to settle down and raise a family like anyone else."

Together they raised their children and made enough money through investing in real estate and other businesses. Jane found out she had cancer in 2004 and chose to have a mastectomy in order to save her life. Here's what she said:

"I realized I had a lump in my right breast and upon further investigation, it was confirmed that I had breast cancer.”

She said her husband had been supportive initially, and she had also taken care of him while he was confined to a wheelchair, suffering from broken limbs for three years following an attack by hoodlums.

"Around 2013 and 2014, he started changing and would even step away from me whenever he received a phone call. Things moved from bad to worse when, in August 2015, he came home and found me in bed. I remember he insulted me about my body and kicked me out of the house saying his home was not a hospital ward and I ought to find one."

She left, started a business to support herself before returning to her husband following an intervention by her brother. She said: "I returned to my matrimonial home briefly but fled when he arrived in a foul mood and attempted to attack me.”

Following the recent developments, some of Jane's relatives had this to say:

"We were shocked and ashamed when our mum revealed how Njuguna insulted her that she is useless now that she has nothing on her chest for enjoyment."

Another relative had this to say:

"When the order was delivered at the woman’s house where the wedding was supposed to be held, he was not around, but he later signed it. We thought he would obey the order, only for word to reach us that the wedding was going on. Luckily, we arrived in time and saved the situation."
