A middle-aged woman was caught stealing from another customer in a Kenyan bank.

The woman who was eventually paraded on the streets of Ruiru town in Kenya, had reportedly stolen 5,000 Kenyan Shillings (N15,000) from a customer at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).

After she was caught stealing the cash from the customer's bag through the CCTV camera, a makeshift placard which had the inscription "I am a thief. Mimi ni mwizi." was placed on her in order to shame her for her actions.

The bank's operations manager confirmed the incident, adding that the woman was arrested and is currently being held at the Ruiru police station.

The culprit is allegedly part of a three-member gang who had come to steal. The other two escaped after their partner was caught.
