Junior secondary school student dies after allegedly taking 10 tablets of Tramadol

It has just been reported that a Junior Secondary School 2 student died hours after consuming 10 tablets of Tramadol in Ohafia, Arochukwu local government in Abia state.

The death of this male student was reported by a commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Akindele Akingbade. He disclosed this while delivering a lecture at the office of the senior special assistant to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

According to The Nation, the seminar was organised on behalf of patent medicine dealers operating in the state.

Akingbade further disclose that the late pupil abused the tablets in order to enhance his performance during the school’s inter-house sports competition. He died shortly after consuming the drug.

The NDLEA official further advised patent medicine dealers to desist from selling drugs without prescription by doctors. He attributed the high rate of crimes, including robbery, rape, kidnapping and others to the effect of drugs.

Legit.ng earlier reported that a young man was rushed to the hospital in Lagos after consuming seven tablets of Tramadol. He took it in an attempt to get high.
