Bike riders beat up policeman who fell while fleeing after a raid in Ikeja

Over the years, police officers have been seen on the streets of Lagos seizing motor bikes from its owners. They go from street to street in order to ensure that no bike rider tries to ply the highway.

A video has gone viral on the internet which shows how angry bike riders beat up a police officer who fell from the van. This act was reportedly carried out after the officers came to raid a street in Ikeja.

It was also reported that what got the bike riders upset was the fact that the police officers made use of tear gas to scare people away from them.

The video was shared on Twitter by Cynthia (@Cee_ling) with the caption: “The Nigerian police is your friend they said. They came to pack up the bikes in the area by shooting up tear gas at the guys, who got upset and decided to fight back.”

Looking at the video, the policeman was seen trying to run after the police vehicle but unfortunately could not catch up and was lynched by the angry bike riders.
