Nigerian man buys plastic fake fish

The adulteration of the food market with fake products has become a fundamental issue in the world. While these productions are dominant in China, it appears these harmful impersonationg of foods have gradually found their way into the Nigerian market as well. Stories of people buying plastic rice and vegetables are now very often.

Just recently, a Nigerian man took to his Twitter page to share his own experience and how he fell victim to these fraudulent and despicable acts. According to his story, he bought frozen fish and tried to cook it. However, after a while of cooking, it still didn't soften like normal fish would and that was went he realized.

The fish he had purchased was fake fish that had plastic bones and foam as a replacement for flesh. The young man identified as Muhammad Salame reported the issue to National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). In his latest update, he revealed that they were currently at the shop where he got it and apparently, the seller is not aware of the type of fish he is selling which is known as 'Meluza'.
