3-month-old baby rescued from child traffickers reunites with family
- A 3-month-old-baby who was recently kidnapped by child traffickers has been reunited with her family
- The baby was rescued by a policewoman who took care of her until her mother was located
- According to reports, the baby was kidnapped by her caretaker with the intentions of selling her to the highest bidder
It was a happy moment for a Nigerian woman when she was reunited with her baby. According to a Facebook user identified as Iromuanya Classy Nma, the 3-month-old child was rescued from child traffickers by her sister in-law who is a policewoman. She brought the child home and was taking care of her while searching for the mother.
Iromuanya in order to help locate the mother of the baby, decided to use the social media platform to share the news and find the mother of the child. She shared the photos of the child and narrated the story on her Facebook page.
She wrote: "Help find the mother of this baby, she was rescued from baby traffickers yesterday. My sister in-law who is a police office brought her home to bath and change her.If you know anyone looking for her 3 months old baby please tell her to go to Amankwo police station near Abia Tower umuahia Abia State. Happy new year everyone. It's our year of rescue.

It appeared the search on social media may have yielded fruitful results as a day later Iromuanya posted the good news of the reuninon between the mother and child.
She wrote: "Update: the baby has been reunited with her family. Her mother came all the way from Oyibo Rivers State to get her.The story...The mother of the baby is a single mother who was abandoned by the baby's father. Another guy took her in and took care of her during her pregnancy with the intention of selling the baby at birth with or without the consent of the mother.When the baby was finally born. The caretaker told the mother to sell the baby but she refused. The guy made plans with his friends leaving in Umuahia to get a buyer.The day of kidnap, he sent the baby's mother to go and buy a recharge card for him. When the lady left , he took the baby and ran to Umuahia to meet with his friend for them to execute their plans.

Unluckily for them the buyer wanted a baby boy not a baby girl. They were left with the baby. The guy in Umuahia called his girlfriend and hand the baby over to her to pretend to be the mother while they look for another buyer.They spent a night in his aunty's place. Meanwhile the baby cried all through the night as she was hungry, which raise suspicions. The Aunty began to question the "supposed" mother of the baby why she is not breastfeeding her. After much interrogations the lady opened up that the baby wasn't hers. The woman now ran to the police office to make entry.That was how they were caught. All are in police custody.
