In recent times, many have been said about the luxurious lifestyles of most men of God living in Nigeria and abroad.
People are of the opinion that pastors live their lives majorly on the offerings and tithes they receive in church and do not believe that some of the might have private businesses that they use is sustaining their wealthy lifestyle.
Aside from rocking expensive suites or tuxedos, designers shoes or sandals, flashy cars and dream houses, some pastors never travel with a private jet at their beck and call. This has made Nigerians react when Pope Francis was seen ridding a tricycle during his last visit to Bangladesh.
NAIJ.com took to its Facebook profile on Tuesday, December 5, to share the picture of the Pope with the caption: “While Nigerian pastors are buying private jets and cruising with security guards, Pope Francis who is the head of the most famous and richest church on earth in his recent visit to Bangladesh did not only board their local aircraft but he rode on a tricycle. To God be the glory.”
Some people easily judged that the Pope is indeed humble, one Mcandy Adolf said: “The Pope exhibited a practical example of HUMILITY while our Pastors in Nigeria preach of HUMILITY on the altars but are full of Pride and Arrogant.”
Isaac Junior Aloma also disclosed that Nigerians pastors are the busiest in the world and need to travel frequently which is why they need to make use of the private jets.
His post reads: “You people do not understand that in terms of ministry, Nigerian Pastors are the busiest pastors in the world (two world largest auditoriums in the world are owned by Nigerian pastors Redeem and Winners Chapel). These guys are frequent travelers, you do not expect them to always stand on an airport line waiting for plans with d delay of flights an all. Why is it that countries designate a private jet to their presidents? Don’t you know these men of God are more influential and busier than most presidents. Someone like Adaboye who is in the world’s top 50 most influential and you guys still think they do not deserve a private jet? All men of God are not the same so it’s safer we keep our mouth shut on this issue and let God Judge so we don’t blaspheme. The bible say in Matthew chat 3:6 that what one hand gives, the other hand should not be allowed to see. They must not display how much they give to d less privilege for them to proof to the world they actually give. It is even unbiblical to do so Judging from the above scripture.”
