A Nigerian man has lashed out on social media after a video showing members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God bowing to a chair during service was released.

The man identified as Uchechi Nwigwe who shared his opinion on the video on his Facebook claimed the congregants were worshipping the chair rather than God.

According to Nwigwe, the chair the members were kneeling and bowing to belongs to the general overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

Nwigwe expressed his opinion that it is wrong for members to bow and kneel to a chair meant for their pastor.

The Facebook user further noted that the Catholic Church would never allow congregants to bow and kneel to a man of God or his chair.

He said: “I do not subscribe to any form of human worship, whether of Saints or living humans, but watch a Video of some Redeemed members worshiping the Chair of their GO. What do you think about this?”
