A Nigerian man identified as David Samson has become a marine engineer after graduating from the University of Perpetual Help System in the Philippines.
NAIJ.com gathered that Samson was honoured with the presence of Nollywood actor, Real Odira, at his graduation ceremony.
The young man explained that his parents were unable to pay for his education but he became a marine engineer because of the Nigerian government.
Samson thanked former Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan, for sponsoring his education in the Philippines.
Ex-president Jonathan started a training programme for students of the Nigerian Seafarers Development Programme and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency during his regime.
Students of each set were given the opportunity to further their studies in the University of Perpetual Help System in the Philippines.
The programme was reportedly established to address the requirement of manpower in the maritime sector.
