Meet alleged oldest woman in Cross River state, she's 151 years old (photos)

The governor of Cross River state, Ben Ayade, has shown love towards alleged oldest woman in the state. She is said to be about 151 years old.

The woman who was identified as Mary Ekwo gave birth to 17 children but seven of them died. Thereby, leaving her with only 10 children.

Governor Ayade was reported to have awarded free home medical care to this woman. The news was shared by one of his aides, Prince Charles Ekanem IV, via his Facebook profile.

He posted several pictures of the woman with the caption: “AYADECARE: The oldest woman in Cross River State receives free home medical care; Surpass the 118 years old woman from Begiaba village, Obudu. 151 years old woman by name Mary Ekwo from Oshuo Family, Wula 1 Community receives free Medical care from Cross River State Home Health Services. The woman who is still agile and strong is said to be over 151 years old has 17 children in which 7 is late. According to one of her daughter, Mrs Scholartica Oshuo who is 71 years old said her eldest brother and the 7th Son is 95 years old.

Mrs Scholartica stated that her grandmother died at a very old age and also had 19 children. She said the family is very appreciative of His Excellency, Senator (Prof) Ben Ayade for his effort in making sure the poor have access to quality healthcare. The CEO of Vital Signs, Dr Genevieve Barnaby donated food items and money to the old woman.”
