- Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg is currently being celebrated by men all over the country
- He recently announced that he will be proceeding on paternity leave
- Perhaps companies will take note of this and offer men time off after they welcome new kids
It is almost unheard of to see a man take paternity leave after the birth of his son or daughter. Instead what is common is the woman going on maternity leave which has no set duration.
But in recent times, there has been clamours for men to be offered time off after their wives welcome a new child. One person that has brought this to the fore front is Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook.
Mark recently took to his Facebook page to announce that he will be proceeding on a two month paternity leave after the birth of his child.
See his post below:
“Our new daughter is coming soon so I'm planning to take two months of paternity leave. I'm looking forward to bonding with our new little one and taking Max on adventures. I'm pretty sure the office will still be standing when I get back.”
Perhaps companies here will start giving men paternity leave too.
