- The rain that fell within Friday, July 7 and Sunday, July 9 2017 left many streets flooded in Lekki
- Some Nigerians have taken to their social media to share the chilling experiences they had
Now that the rainy season is here in full force, Nigerians that reside in areas that are prone to flood are starting to have a rethink with their choice of location.
Most residents in Lekki area of Lagos did not find the weekend enjoyable as their streets and houses were flooded. While some areas were closed down due to the flood, some people had no choice than to vacate their homes when the rain would not stop falling.
Nigerians took to their social media pages to share photos of streets and houses that go flooded over the weekend. A Twitter user identified as Taymib reportedly saw a baby drowning in the flood.
The flooded streets of Lekki made residents leaving on the mainland lash out at people on the other side of Lagos.
