Matharoo sisters claim they apologized to Femi Otedola because their passports were seized (photo)

- In December, 2016, two Canadian sisters, Kiran and Jyotu Matharoo, were arrested for allegedly extorting and cyber-bullying billionaire, Femi Otedola

- They were accused of allegedly trying to blackmail Otedola and cyberbully more than 200 other people throughout Africa with a website known as Naijagistlive

- It was then gathered that the ladies had in their possession photos and videos of Otedola cheating on his wife

- The Matharoo sisters later apologized to Otedola’s family and confessed to creating Naijagistlive. They have, however, come out to deny the allegations made against them in December.

Kiran and Jyotu Matharoo who were accused of creating a cyber-bullying website in other to extort African billionaires for money have claimed that the allegations made against them were false.

In a short interview with CTV News Toronto, the sisters claimed they had only confessed to the crime in other to get their passports which were seized by Nigerian authorities.

They claimed that they still were not given their passports even after apologizing, adding that the Canadian embassy had given them temporary passports.

Jyoti said: “We just decided to speak because everyone thinks we’re missing or dead or worse, the way the media reported it, they called us, prostitutes...I’ve never done anything like that. I’ve never blackmailed anyone, never extorted anyone. I think the stain on our reputation will never be cleared.”

Meanwhile, the Nigerian authorities issued an arrest warrant for the sisters after they missed several court appearances and refused to return to Nigeria.

You may like to know that the case against Jyoti and Kiran will return to court in May 22.
