- Abel Morrison has three wives and 11 kids
- He says his dying brother asked him to take in his two wives and eight kids
- While Abel's first wife is open to the idea, his other two wives are reluctant
A Mormon religious adherent in Utah, US is considering marrying his late brother's two wives and taking in their eight children to fulfill his dying wish.
Abel Morrison is already married to three wives and has 11 children.
However, he says before his brother Jim died, he asked him to take in his wives and children.
Speaking on the reality TV series Three Wives, One Husband that features his polygamous marriage, Abel said: “A few months before Jim died he called me up and he had a special request."
He continued: “He wanted to know whether I would consider taking his wives and his family into my family, taking care of them, and marrying Melinda and Annazela."
He added that it is "right" to step in and take care of his late brother's family if they choose. Jim's wives are reportedly open to the idea.
One of them, Melinda, said: “What I have with Jimmy can’t be matched but Abel is a really awesome guy and I want to honour Jim’s last wishes.”
However, Abel's wife are split on the issue. While his first wife Suzie is open to it, Marina and Beth are reluctant.
Beth said: “Marina just married Abe three years ago and we’re all still adjusting to that. Now all of a sudden we may have to adjust to Mel and Annazela joining the family as well as their kids and the thought of how our lives would change is overwhelming.”
Fundamentalist Mormons practice polygamy and half of all Mormon men are reportedly polygamous.
