Four-month-old Thomas Blanksby was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The child’s parents were devastated when the doctors told them that there was nothing that could be done for him.

The parents of the child recently posted an image of Thomas being hugged by his older brother with the caption: "I'm here, everything is ok."

The mother snapped the touching photo when she tiptoed into the room and caught William, the three-year-old brother, spending time with his younger brother.

The child whispered: "Big brother is here, everything is ok."

Sheryl, Thomas’ mother, wrote on her blog: "I can't even begin to describe the pain I feel each time I look at his precious face."

"My heart breaks for every big smile he gives me because I know how much I will miss it when it's all gone, and when you think my heart can't take it anymore, it shatters even more when he gives his begging look when he's in pain," the mother wrote.

She added: "I wake up wishing it's all just a bad dream and then I look at Thomas and I know it's all real. I start to cry. I go to bed scared and I beg for the night NOT to be our last."

The cancer began as a skin lesion, however upon further inspections doctors found a tumor on the child’s kidney.

The doctors removed the kidney, but the cancer persisted spreading across the child’s body.

The mother added: "Our Thomas is still here with us and that's what really matters. Each day is embraced and each week is celebrated. Watching my two sons together is a dream come true."
