A man in Cologne, Germany, dressed up as Jesus — and even looked like him — and carried a cross with him to join a street carnival. The only glitch, however, was that his cross got stuck in the ceiling as he moved up the escalator.

The unidentified man was captured on video as he moved up the escalator, an act some have referred to as his own heavenly ascent.

However, as he reaches the top, his life-sized cross gets jammed between the floor of the escalator and the ceiling of the building. He is then seen desperately trying to free the stuck cross.

After a brief struggle during which he manages to put in a German swear word, the bearded and long-haired man then turns to the camera and offers a sheepish smile.

The video footage of the incident has surfaced online, much to the amusement of commenters. One remarked that the Carnival would be a moment of martyrdom for the man.
