- A man trying to break into a house had the “brilliant” idea to go down its chimney
- He got stuck instead
- When police broke him loose, he was charged with burglary
A 28-year-old thief, who tried to break into a house via its chimney, did not have a happy ending to his burglary escapade.
Keith Schultz’s Santa Claus-gone-bad attempt ended with him getting stuck inside a chimney. The ridiculously funny situation happened at a community in Ridgecrest, California, last week.
Schultz and a female accomplice tried to get into a home in order to commit a burglary. The woman’s efforts to break in triggered the house’s alarm, which made her run away, but Schultz was already stuck.

It was the same woman’s anonymous phone call to 911 that alerted authorities on the man’s predicament.
Ridegcrest Police Department have charged Schultz with burglary in the first degree. His suspected accomplice is still on the run.
