1. She is from the eastern part of Nigeria:

Mrs Betty Chioma Akeredolu (nee Anyanwu), hails from Emeabiam in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state. She was born on the 20th of July, 1953 to the family of Chief and Mrs. B. Anyanwu.

2. She is a breast cancer survivor:

After she was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 1997, she underwent treatment and eventually survived the deadly disease. Her ordeal became her driving force and she went ahead to start a Nonprofit Organisation in 1997, known as Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN), which focuses mainly on awareness of the disease. She is also a strong supporter of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement.

3. She owns her own aquafarm:

After bagging a masters degree in Fisheries from the University of Philippines, Mrs Akeredolu who is also a University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) graduate of Zoology, started her own fish farm known as Aquatek Farms Ventures, in Ibadan, Oyo state.

4. She takes her role as a grandmother very seriously:

Her marriage to Mr Rotimi, produced four children identified as Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (Jnr), Dr. Teniola Akeredolu, Mrs.Yejide Runsewe and Babajide Akeredolu. One of them (Rotimi Jnr) has a son with his wife and Mrs Betty plays the adorable grandmother role very well.
